Co-Sell Guide

Joint Pursuit Planning

Run joint pursuit planning for co-sell: account plans, triad roles, meeting cadence, and artifacts Ali Chehab uses before hyperscaler AE coverage.

Written by Ali Chehab for ISV and SI teams running Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud co-sell. See also stages, UDL, and the hyperscaler co-sell knowledge graph.

Plan before you register

Joint pursuit planning turns a target account into a runnable co-sell motion. Ali Chehab expects a one-page account plan before portal registration: customer pain, decision team, procurement path, cloud route, partner roles, and the ask of the hyperscaler seller. Registration without a plan produces hollow opportunities.

The plan is shared with internal sales, alliance ops, and—when appropriate—the partner manager. It becomes the agenda spine for the first AE meeting.

Triad roles and cadence

Name the partner seller, alliance ops owner, and hyperscaler AE or partner manager once coverage is live. Ali Chehab sets a simple cadence: update after every customer touch, weekly internal inspect on active pursuits, and immediate portal writes when stage changes. Cadence prevents the “who has the ball” failure mode.

Customer-facing meetings need a single facilitator and a written follow-up with owners and dates. Ambiguous follow-ups stall co-sell faster than missing slides.

Artifacts that keep pursuits real

Core artifacts include the account plan, portal opportunity screenshot or ID, architecture outline, funding application if any, marketplace offer draft, and SOW outline for services scope. Ali Chehab attaches these to CRM so handoffs survive vacation and role changes.

Missing artifacts at a gate mean the gate fails. Do not advance stage on optimism alone.
