Co-Sell Guide
SI + ISV Co-Sell Motion
How systems integrators and ISVs co-sell together with hyperscalers: role split, opportunity linkage, marketplace and SOW paths, and Ali Chehab’s joint pursuit rules.
Written by Ali Chehab for ISV and SI teams running Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud co-sell. See also stages, UDL, and the hyperscaler co-sell knowledge graph.
Two partners, one customer motion
SI and ISV co-sell works when roles are explicit. The ISV owns product fit, licensing, and often marketplace listing. The SI owns implementation, migration, and managed services. The hyperscaler seller owns platform consumption and account access. Ali Chehab writes those roles into the pursuit plan before the first joint customer meeting.
Confusion on who leads commercial conversation kills deals. Decide primary transact path—marketplace ISV offer, services marketplace SKU, or direct SOW—and secondary contracts before negotiation heat rises.
Linking opportunities and attribution
Register ISV and services pursuits as linked records. Ali Chehab keeps partner portal IDs and CRM IDs cross-referenced so each firm gets credit without fighting over a single line. Hyperscaler sellers need both signals when they defend internal forecasting.
Delivery kickoff should inherit the co-sell narrative: success metrics, cloud services in scope, and expansion hypotheses. That handoff feeds the expansion flywheel after go-live.
Field execution patterns
Joint pursuits need a single meeting owner and a shared agenda. Ali Chehab prefers the partner closest to the executive sponsor to lead customer dialogue while the other partner owns technical depth. Hyperscaler AE and SA join when coverage gates are met.
Weekly triad syncs—ISV seller, SI seller, alliance ops—catch portal drift and customer risk early. Exception repair applies to both firms’ registrations when either side stalls.

SI plus ISV co-sell is a designed motion, not a hallway introduction. Document roles, links, and transact paths, then run the gates.
